  • When does admission open?

    We operate year-round rolling admissions, meaning you can apply and enroll your child at any time during the academic year, subject to space availability in the desired class. Whether you're planning ahead for the new session or need mid-term admission, we're ready to welcome your child.

  • What are the age requirements for each class?

    We use age-appropriate placement with flexibility based on assessment. Here are our general age guidelines:

    • Early Years: Creche (under 1), Early Impression (under 1, ready for learning), Play Group 1 (1-2), Play Group 2 (2-3), Nursery 1 (3-4), Nursery 2 (4-5)
    • Primary: Year 1 (5-6), Year 2 (6-7), Year 3 (7-8), Year 4 (8-9), Year 5 (9-10)
    • Secondary: JSS 1 (10-11), JSS 2 (11-12), JSS 3 (12-13)

    Important Note: These are guidelines, not rigid rules. After our assessment test, we may recommend a higher or lower class based on your child's academic readiness and maturity, regardless of age.

  • What is the admission process?

    Our admission process is designed to be thorough yet efficient:

    2. Parent Meeting: We meet with you to discuss your child's needs and provide information about Johnethel

    3. Purchase Form: Obtain the admission form (online form launching soon)

    4. Assessment Test: Your child takes a placement test to determine the appropriate class level

    5. Results & Recommendation: We contact you with assessment results and class recommendation (usually within 1-2 days)

    6. Agreement & Payment: Once you accept, we provide the fee schedule and you complete payment

    7. Admission Confirmed: Your child is officially enrolled and ready to start!

    Timeline: The entire process typically takes 2 days to 1 week, depending on assessment scheduling and decision-making.

  • What documents are required for admission?

    When you return your completed admission form, please include:

    • Photocopy of child's birth certificate (from National Population Commission)
    • Photocopy of child's immunization card
    • 2 passport photographs of the child
    • 1 passport photograph of the father
    • 1 passport photograph of the mother

    Optional Documents: Previous school reports or transfer certificates (optional, as we conduct our own assessment).

  • How are school fees structured?

    Payment Schedule: Fees are paid per term (three terms per academic year). Parents may choose to pay for multiple terms in advance if preferred. Installment payment plans are available upon request and discussion with management (requires a written undertaking).

    What's Included in Termly Fees: Tuition, medical services, toiletries, general lessons, and examinations.

    Additional Costs (Paid Separately): School uniforms (must be purchased from the school), books & learning materials (paid once per session at the beginning of First Term), after-school care (paid monthly at the beginning of each month or termly if preferred), and optional items like Royal Child T-shirts and cardigans.

  • Do you offer scholarships or financial assistance?

    We evaluate scholarship and financial assistance requests on a case-by-case basis. If your family requires support, please discuss this with our management during the admission process. We're committed to making quality education accessible where possible.

  • What is the uniform policy?

    All school uniforms must be purchased directly from the school to ensure consistency and quality. We also offer optional branded items like Royal Child T-shirts and cardigans that can be purchased at any time.

  • Do you provide transportation?

    Yes! We arrange transportation services on demand for specific residential areas. If you need school bus services, please indicate this during your admission meeting so we can check if we cover your area or arrange a route.

  • Does the school provide lunch?

    Students bring lunch from home. We provide a snack time during the school day where children can eat snacks brought from home or purchased at school.

  • Can parents visit during school hours?

    Parents are welcome to visit the school during office hours for enquiries, payments, or administrative matters. However, for the safety and focus of our students, classroom visits and seeing your child during school hours are not permitted except in emergencies or with prior arrangement. If necessary, you may briefly see your child in the reception or waiting area outside of their classroom.

  • Do you accept mid-term admissions?

    Yes! We accept admissions throughout the academic year, including mid-term. Your child will be assessed and placed appropriately, and we'll work to ensure a smooth transition into their new class.

  • Do you offer sibling discounts?

    Yes, we offer sibling discounts for families with multiple children enrolled at Johnethel. The specific discount depends on discussions with management, so please ask during your admission meeting.
